The present homepage has been edited by Robert Nordsieck since 1999. In contains information on the animal group of molluscs (Mollusca), including snails, mussels, squid and other molluscs. Besides biological information the site also contains information on art and economy.
The home page has been optimized for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 with active Javascript at a resolution of 800 to 600 Pixel, but can also be viewed at higher resolutions.
The site tries to deliver scientific information staying generally understandable. Scientifically complex facts have been omitted. Where possible biological facts have been explained nearby. The home page that way should be understandable also to students and interested laymen.
On the page scientific nomenclature where necessary, is in use. Scientific taxon names always are written in italics. Authors' names in connection have been written in small capitals.
Besides information on molluscs we also try to provide information on other subjects of science, such as geography.
